Besiktas Seal Loan Deal for Tammy Abraham from AS Roma, Option to Buy Included

Turkish football powerhouse Besiktas JK have confirmed the signing of English striker Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan from AS Roma, with an option to make the move permanent from the 2026–27 season.
The 27-year-old forward arrived in Istanbul earlier in the week and passed his medical on Tuesday, paving the way for a deal that will see Besiktas pay AS Roma a €2 million loan fee for the 2025–26 campaign.

In an official statement on Friday, the Istanbul club disclosed the terms of the agreement, stating:

“A loan fee of €2,000,000 will be paid to AS Roma for the 2025–2026 season. If contractual conditions are met, the move will become permanent for a transfer fee of €13,000,000, to be paid in instalments until 2030.”

The club also confirmed that negotiations had been ongoing with both AS Roma and the player, full name Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, who has one year remaining on his current contract with the Italian side.

Abraham joined AS Roma in August 2021 from Chelsea in a €41 million move and quickly became a key figure in the team that clinched the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022. Known for his powerful presence and clinical finishing, the striker brought a new dimension to Roma’s attack during José Mourinho’s tenure.

Most recently, Abraham spent the 2024–25 season on loan at Roma’s Serie A rivals AC Milan, where he registered 10 goals across all competitions—a return that appeared to reignite interest in his services from across Europe.

Besiktas, keen to bolster their squad after a challenging domestic campaign, are hoping the England international can spearhead a new era of success at Vodafone Park.

If the option to buy is exercised, Abraham’s permanent move would represent one of the club’s most significant transfer outlays in recent years, signaling their ambition to challenge both domestically and in European competitions.
