The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially postponed its highly anticipated 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally scheduled for May 27, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the National Secretary, Sen. Samuel N. Anyanwu, the decision was made to allow Sen. Bukola Saraki's Reconciliation Committee ample time to "complete its assignment of resolving some internal conflicts necessary to have a peaceful NEC Meeting" once rescheduled.
According to the statement, a new meeting date will be announced in compliance with the PDP Constitution (2017, as amended) and the Electoral Act (2022). In a strong warning to party stakeholders and the public, the National Secretary emphasized that any notices issued by the Deputy National Secretary or others claiming to act as National Secretary are unauthorized and illegal.
“All inconveniences resulting from this change of date are regretted,” Sen. Anyanwu stated, assuring members of the party’s continued commitment to unity and due process.
