In response to recent claims of financial misconduct within the Federation of Ekiti State Students Union (FESSU), the National General Secretary, Comrade Ademiluyi Ayodele Joseph, has issued a firm rebuttal, describing the allegations as unfounded and politically motivated.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, Comr. Ademiluyi reacted to a public announcement allegedly made by the FESSU Senate leadership, which declared the suspension of both the Union's President and General Secretary over charges of misappropriation and corruption.
Comr. Ademiluyi strongly refuted the claims, asserting that he had no involvement in any financial impropriety. “All documents relating to the disbursed funds bear no signature of mine,” he stated, distancing himself from the actions of the National President, Comr. Adewumi Peter Idowu, who he claims unilaterally handled the funds.
He also criticized the procedural integrity of the suspension process, challenging the legitimacy of the Senate's actions. “The Senate does not have the constitutional authority to suspend officers outside of an official sitting,” he noted, adding that no such sitting took place and that due process, including fair hearing, was completely ignored.
Comr. Ademiluyi further questioned the intentions behind the hurried suspension, suggesting it was a ploy to derail a planned protest scheduled for March 22, 2018. He accused the Senate President of acting alone, possibly under external influence, and called on him to publicly disclose the names of senators allegedly present during the supposed suspension meeting, as well as minutes from the session.
He emphasized that no official documentation had been served regarding his suspension and reaffirmed his position: “I, Comr. Ademiluyi Ayodele Joseph, remain the authentic National General Secretary of FESSU.”
Concluding his statement, Ademiluyi issued a stern warning to those he accuses of defamation and false accusation, demanding a public apology within 48 hours. Failure to do so, he said, would result in legal action against all parties involved.
Attached to his statement are documents allegedly signed solely by the National President, which he claims further exonerate him from any financial wrongdoing.
This development adds another layer of controversy to ongoing tensions within the student body, with observers now awaiting the Senate's response to the Secretary’s demands.

FULL PRESS STATEMENT BELOW:
RE: FINANCIAL MISAPPROPRIATION AND CORRUPT CHARGES.
My attention has been drawn to the press statement credited to the leadership of FESSU Senate where they reportedly suspended the President and General Secretary for financial misconduct, misappropriation among others.
Its on record that the allegations levied against me was a deliberate attempt to incriminate me and in a bid to sabotage the planned protest scheduled to hold on Thursday 22nd of March 2018, however, i wish to poke the consciousness of the public that I am not a party to all the monies illegally collected by the National President, Comr Adewumi Peter Idowu as all the documents that backed up this funds does not have my SIGNATURE to attest my partisanship in the fraudulent act of the President.
Moreover, concerning the allege suspension, the senate leadership doesn't have the constitutional power to suspend any officer in a BEER PARLOR in the ABSENCE of a SENATE SITTING and the accused in any case deserve FAIR HEARING with proper investigation. In essence, one begin to wonder why the Senate President has rushed to UNILATERALLY suspend officers of the union WITHOUT a SENATE SITTING, Funny enough, the Senate President who is supposed to be vast in the constitution singlehandedly took a decision on behalf of the Senate arm.
If there was a Senate sitting to that effect, I challenged the Senate President to make public the senators in attendance and the minute of the said sitting. It's crystal clear that the President of the Senate has a lot to hide, if not being paid to tarnish my hard earned image. The Senate President reportedly said suspending the President hold no weight as the President has no integrity to battle with but the suspension of the General Secretary would make the act weighty.
However, till this very moment, the Senate President has only engaged in a show of shame to impress his pay master with the media as there is no letter backing the rumored suspension and I wish to inform the general public that I, Comr. Ademiluyi Ayodele Joseph still remains the authentic National General Secretary.
In essence, without mincing word, the Senate President and his accomplice must as a matter of urgency make a PUBLIC APOLOGY for DEFAMATION of CHARACTER, PERSONALITY ASSAULT and FALSE ACCUSATION within the next 48 hours without which LEGAL ACTIONS would be taken against individuals involved.
NOTE: Attached to this statement are all the documents signed by the National President to show his appreciation for all the fund received and non of it carries my signature.
SIGNED:
Ademiluyi Ayodele Joseph,
The Authentic National General Secretary,
Federation of Ekiti State Students Union,
