The political atmosphere of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Gbonyin local government seems not to be palatable as the youths and party loyalist of the party in Ijan Ekiti got agitated by ill political activities of the incumbent governor, Ayodele Fayose against the people of Ijan Ekiti especially the party faithful, thereby setting the party properties ablaze to express their displeasure with Ayodele Fayose led government.
The youth and party faithful in their good number reportedly marched towards the party secretariat today, Sunday 26th of November and set ablaze party chairs, tables, signboard among various other party properties on fire 🔥.
The town was allegedly schemed out of governance by the Ayodele Fayose led three years administration, the youths complained that the town have benefited nothing from the Fayose led government since his emergence in 2014.
Setting ablaze the party properties was connected with the taking away of the national delegate from the people of the town after the demise of Hon Ogunmilade who is due for the post, however, the party loyalist noted in various opinion sampled that it should have been given to one of the "Hon Ogunmilade political family" or given back to the town than taking it outrightly away from the people of the town who voted massively for governor Ayodele Fayose.
The national delegate was however given to Hon Odeyemi from Ode Ekiti making him the third delegate from Ode Ekiti after the Chairperson of the local government, Hon Shade Akinrinmola and a member of the House of Representative, Hon Awodumila, the trio happens to come from Ode Ekiti.
They further alleged that the town has remained in perpetual darkness since the emergence of the Fayose and the governor decided to turn deaf hears to their plight ever since, yet the governor was instrumental in reconnecting electricity back to his town and leaving other towns in darkness.
In a more critical point, the youth affirmed their readiness to ground PDP in the town to point zero as they are ready for more showdown with the governor in the coming days.
