The Adekunle Ajasin University Alumni Association (AAUA), Ekiti State Chapter, has announced plans to host its 2026 New Year Get-Together, a gathering designed to strengthen unity, reconnect members, and reinforce the association’s collective growth agenda.
In a statement issued
by the Chapter’s Publicity Secretary, Mr
Yemi Olajutemu, the alumni body described the event as more than a
social reunion. According to him, the gathering is a deliberate effort to
deepen relationships among alumni and refocus collective energy towards
personal development, professional advancement, and meaningful contributions to
Ekiti State.
The New Year Get-Together is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at Town Tavern Lounge, Ikere Road, beside Atlas Hotel, Ado-Ekiti, with activities commencing at 4:30 p.m. The association said the venue and timing were carefully chosen to ensure comfort, accessibility, and broad participation by members across different graduating sets.
Mr. Olajutemu noted
that the initiative reflects the vision and steady leadership of the Chapter
Chairman, Mr Segun Adebayo,
whose administration has consistently focused on strengthening member welfare,
relevance, and professional growth. He said the Chairman has worked
persistently to reposition the Ekiti Chapter as a vibrant network built on
support, opportunity, and shared purpose.
Under Mr. Adebayo’s
leadership, the Chapter has witnessed renewed enthusiasm among members,
increased engagement across generations, and a clearer understanding of how
alumni connections can translate into tangible personal and collective
benefits. His leadership style, the statement added, is anchored on
inclusiveness, transparency, and service.
The upcoming
get-together is seen as a continuation of these efforts. It will provide a
relaxed but purposeful platform for alumni to reconnect, exchange ideas, and
explore ways of leveraging their diverse experiences for mutual upliftment. The
association stressed that such interactions are critical for building trust,
collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging.
Beyond celebration,
the event will also serve as a moment of reflection, reviewing the past year
and jointly discussing priorities for the year ahead. Members are expected to
contribute ideas, identify collaboration opportunities, and help strengthen the
collective voice of the Chapter.
Highlighting the
benefits of participation, the association noted that alumni engagements often
open doors to mentorship, professional networking, business partnerships, and
reliable support systems. Members stand to gain fresh perspectives, renewed
motivation, and meaningful connections capable of shaping both their careers
and personal lives.
Mr. Olajutemu
called on all AAUA alumni in Ekiti State and beyond to prioritise attendance,
describing participation as a strong statement of commitment to the
association’s shared future. He assured members of a warm, inclusive, and
well-coordinated event that reflects the values and camaraderie of the AAUA
alumni family.
The statement
concluded by reaffirming the leadership’s commitment, under Mr. Segun Adebayo, to
advancing the interests of members individually and collectively, expressing
confidence that unity and sustained participation will further strengthen the
Chapter’s relevance and impact in the years ahead.
