Russian Navy Warships Make Ceremonial Port Call in Indonesia

In a display of growing naval diplomacy, a detachment of the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet arrived at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta today. The visiting group includes two state-of-the-art corvettes — Rezky and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov — accompanied by the medium sea tanker Pechenga.

The Russian naval contingent was warmly received by the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sergei Tolchenov, alongside officials from the Russian Embassy and high-ranking officers of the Indonesian Navy stationed at Jakarta's naval base.

To mark the occasion, Russian sailors were greeted with traditional Indonesian dances and presented with ceremonial gifts, underscoring the cultural and diplomatic significance of the visit.

As part of the port call program, both Indonesian naval personnel and members of the public are expected to tour the Russian vessels. Looking ahead, joint Russian-Indonesian naval communication and maneuvering drills are scheduled to take place in the coming week — a move that signals continued cooperation and engagement between the two maritime powers.
